Carton and Case Conveyance
- Manual or gravity powered: Roller - Skate Wheel - Ball Caster Conveyors - Spiral and Reverse Bend Straight Chutes
- Powered Belt, Line Shaft Driven Live Roller Bed or Slider Bed Conveyors for economical horizontal / incline and decline, and point to point transportation.
- Speedy return on a conveyor investment accomplished through increases in productivity result from conveyor integration of manufacturing and for distribution.
SPECIAL CONVEYOR FEATURES AND ACCESSORIES ARE ADDED TO ACCOMPLISH VARIOUS TASKS SUCH AS: 1.. Minimum pressure accumulation 2. Zero pressure zoned accumulation 3. Built-in smart logic adjustable for: (a) slug or cascade accumulation release (b) flexible intermediate location of workstations (c) energy saving automatic sleep mode and awakening to suit production flow and break periods.
- Sortation devices such as:
1. Plows, pop-up chain or v-belt for low throughput 2. Pneumatic pushers and pivot wheel for medium throughput 3. Stewart switches for medium throughput 4. Shoe sorters for high throughput (Low = 5 to 20, medium 20 - 60, high 60 - 150” so s / min.)
- Merge devices and methods such as:
1. Mechanical traffic cops for low throughput 2. Brake belt or pop-up stops for medium throughput 3. Stewart switches (dynamic) for low to medium throughput 4. Blow-through combiner for high throughput
- Special conveyors which gain elevation and saves floor space
1. Spiral down gravity skate wheel curves 2. Spiral up/down powered belt conveyors 3. Spiral up/down powered flex line chain conveyors 4. Reciprocating vertical conveyors 5. Continuous flow up/down platen conveyors 6. Continuous flow up/down side gripper conveyors
- Special purpose conveyors:
1. Telescopic extendable belt conveyors (truck loading) 2. Scissor frame extendable and side flexible gravity and powered skate wheel/roller conveyors. 3. Telescopic extendable gravity skate wheel/roller conveyors 4. Trash removal belt conveyors 5. Trash removal overhead enclosed track conveyors with tipping platforms dumping empty cardboard cases directly into an automatic baler. Overhead enclosed track conveyors with T-bar suspended empty cases delivered continuously to pick lines (just reach up and pick a case “no time or space wasted.”
Pallet Conveyance
- Manual or controlled gravity roller conveyors
- Belt driven live roller transportation / accumulation
- Chain driven live roller transportation / accumulation
- Drag chain transportation / accumulation
- Reciprocating vertical conveyors up / down
- Continuous vertical conveyors up / down
Special conveyor features and accessories are added to accomplish various tasks such as: 1. Zoned accumulation 2. Pop-up chain driven right angle transfers 3. Rotating powered turntables
Manufacturing Process Conveyance
- Many of the conveyors listed under “Carton, Case and Pallet Conveyance” also have useful applications in most manufacturing environments.
Additionally we apply:
- Slat conveyors to convey irregular metal parts and parts with high temperatures (400 oF)
- Wire mesh slider bed conveyors to take parts through ovens or cleaning processes
- Cleated inclined belt conveyors for parts
- Chip removal from production machines
- Heavy duty roller conveyors
Food and Medical Process Conveyance
- Many of the conveyors listed under “Carton & Case Conveyance” are used in food and medical processes after packaging has been completed.
- During processing the preferred conveyors are:
1. Table Top Plastic Belt and Chains on stainless steel beds for wash down application (USDA). 2. Table Top Plastic Belt and Chains on extruded aluminum beds for flexible arrangement and modification 3. Slim - Line Belt Conveyors for component and final assembly
Controls
- Conveying systems can operate with simple start / stop control or in fully automated modes, depending on application and implementation of controls and wiring.
- Conventional wiring in conduit, relay logic controls and manual input.
- Distributive control wiring and automatic input / output using sensors such as photo eyes, proximity switches, readers etc. ”talking to” PLC? (programable logic controllers) or PC?’ (personal computers) which in turn ”tells” the system what to do and “reports” to a host computer what is happening.
- Graphic displays and touch screen controls simplify troubleshooting and man / machine interface.
